Effective Guarding Is A Must in Today’s Workplace
Every company in business today is concerned about keeping their
employees safe while running an efficient operation. We are also seeing
more effort – and regulation – being applied to the health and well-being
of the employee. Machine guarding is one of those areas that is getting
more attention every day. This focus has brought about a flurry of discussions
on how to meet the requirements set forth by MSHA, yet still have
a usable guard that mechanics and operators alike will use.
RAM Continues to Expand Construction Capabilities
RAM Enterprise, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition
of Bill Curtis our new Director of Engineering. With the addition
of Bill and his 25 plus years of industry experience, RAM
can not only provide construction services, but we can make
certain that the project is properly designed and the concepts
are proven to ensure that your idea becomes a reality. RAM
can assist you with your expansions, whether to new or existing
areas, and we can also help with the concept, design,
feasibility and engineering support while you are trying to get
that project off the ground and up and running.
RAM’s Conveyor Belt Team Shines Underground
It started out as a phone call from a RAM Enterprise customer who
has an end-user customer that needed a belt repair. As the conversation
continued it was evident that there were going to be some challenges
along the way. The project was at an underground limestone mine
and it was an emergency situation. The RAM Conveyor Belt Service
Team needed to get tools, supplies and a steel cable splice kit, and an 8
man crew to the limestone mine in a short time frame. The project had
to start on a Wednesday and absolutely had to be completed on Saturday
night. The project consisted of splicing in a 42” wide 1800’ saddle
into an existing belt, 1000’ underground, with an 18 degree slope up to
the surface. Adding to the situation, RAM had never seen or been on this
site, plus it snowed 10” the day they arrived. Seems like a tough project
for most, but not for the RAM Conveyor Belt Team.
