Although cleated sidewall belt splicing is
similar to a flat belt fabric splice, there are a
few things that make the task unique. The
sidewall itself needs to be peeled off the base
belt so the splice location can be exposed.
Because the corrugated sidewall is removed
from the flat belt it must be re-bonded to the
base belt after the splice is complete.
This process alone, if not performed correctly,
can cause significant problems when the belt
is put back into service.
